A Greek cellist “invented” this rosin especially for the cello. It is produced in both “dark” and “light”. 

The dark rosin is softer, and especially suitable for use in the dry, cool Winter time.  Some may find it too sticky. 

In that case, the lighter rosin is called for, as it has the qualities of gentle response and clear overtones.

For the particularly demanding, there is the possibility to mix both sorts.  That is no problem here, because essentially the same basic materials are used.
